McCabe Reservoir is not the only place nearby, Ted Reservoir is a nearby lake; there's perfect hiking along the Eagle Peak Trail. Camping is available at Mavreeso Campground, and great hiking is available along the Stoner Stock Trail. At McCabe Reservoir you don’t see much rain; through March this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is June. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to McCabe Reservoir, and throughout summer nights temperatures
