This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There are delightful locations to look at along the Peaks Trail; Mill Lake Dam is a stunning place. This place is peerless, just look at all the cool stuff to do in close proximity to Marker Lake. Going for       a hike on the Wade Trail is always a fine adventure, and if you want a little side journey, try Echo Canyon. A splendid site to camp here at Marker Lake is Bearadise Cabins and RV Park; at Marker Lake you can distinguish Goemmer Butte. A great nearby hotel is Knights Inn Walsenburg, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Eldora while you're here. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you're                  interested in cool geologic features, try Profile Rock, and camping is available at Circle The wagons RV Park. Echo Creek is a great local stream, and Best Western Rambler is a splendid spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, McDonald Reservoir is near Marker Lake, and there is a pleasant hiking trail nearby called the Black Hills Trail. It is very dry here at Marker Lake usually; the month with most of the rain is August, and January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Marker Lake and you like golf, you can take a look at Grandote Peaks Golf Course, naturally you could also visit Hayes Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Marker Lake. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's.
