Getting to Marion Lake is fun as well as the hiking sites along the way (Marion Mine, and others) but I wouldn't say this is a tourist stop. OK place to grab a few fish, but stay well-hidden. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Eagle Scout Lake Reservoir is a magnificent lake in the neighborhood of Marion Lake; on a good day you can take a hike along the Snowslide Trail. Just can't get enough of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Florence is a great choice, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Cisneros Trail. All through       the summer months here at Marion Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 0's for Marion Lake. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Marion Lake. Why not camp at Aspen Acres Campground since you're here at Marion Lake; the peak of Saint Charles Peak can be observed from Marion Lake. This lake is so wonderful.                  There are other places here than Marion Lake, for example Lake Isabel, and going for a hike along the Saint Charles Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Marion Lake is usually a pretty dry place; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month is January. Ricardo Creek is a magnificent local stream, and Ophir Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground. And if that's not enough there's a heap more enjoyable stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.
