Getting to Marion Lake is fun as well as the hiking sites along the way (Marion Mine, and others) but I wouldn't say this is a tourist stop. OK place to grab a few fish, but stay well-hidden. Why not go to close by Ricardo Creek if you're here at Marion Lake; going for a hike along the Snowslide Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Marion Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. This location, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. A glorious nearby hotel is Colorado City CO Days Inn; Saint Charles Peak is a peak you can catch       a glimpse of from Marion Lake. Through the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the 80's at Marion Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Through the winter highs are typically in the 30's, and night lows through the winter for Marion Lake tend to be in the 0's. Around Marion Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; during August this area sees the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. All the outdoors exciting                  stuff in close proximity to Marion Lake will keep you coming back repeatedly. Take a hike on the Saint Charles Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Ophir Creek Campground if you're here at Marion Lake, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Florence is a great location to spend a night or two.
