This lake is located in the wonderful Park Range. Lake Margaret is ordinarily a quite dry place; the month with most of the snow is December while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. What a place this is for outdoors folks. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Elk River, and do take a hike on the Luna Lake Trail.
If you came to camp Summit Lake Campground is a nice place to do that, and the best way to spend a winter day is

| | on the slopes of nearby Steamboat. You could also go to Lake Margaret since you're here at Lake Margaret; it's nearby, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Elk River. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lake Margaret that you need to camp here for a while, Dry Lake Campground is a brilliant place for that, and Horse Thief Park is right here at Lake Margaret.

Park Range. Western Lodge is a great spot to get some rest, and it's a fine idea to stop by East Branch South Fork Mad Creek. And that's not all you can do here in the Park Range. Have a great hiking adventure along the Big Creek
Lake Trail, and the snow is good at Howelsen Hill. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Lake Edward, and the panorama of pretty Horse Thief Peak is glorious.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lake Margaret while
overnight lows are generally in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows in the-10's for Lake Margaret. Lake Margaret beyond doubt is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. Going
for a hike along the Crags Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and dry warm beds await you at Village at Steamboat.
