     Colorado has many beautiful lakes and Margaret Lake is one of them. Margaret Lake is mostly a quite waterless site; March is the month that gets the most snow, and June is the month with the least moisture. Going for a hike on the Oyster Lake Trail is always a pleasant adventure; since you're here at Margaret Lake, checking out Chinese Wall is a must. This lake is so wonderful. A nice location for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Margaret Lake is Sweetwater  
   Creek. There's so much to do here at Margaret Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Trapline Campground is a good location for that.
In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on White River - North Fork, and close by you discover the South Derby Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. The warmest time of the year at Margaret Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's.
 
               For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Margaret Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. If only every spot had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great world it would be. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Margaret Lake has to offer, you can camp at Bucks Campground, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Ute Trail.
McGinnis Meadows Reservoir Dam has tremendous water scenery and it's right next door to Margaret Lake; the summit of Lost Lakes Peaks can be distinguished from Margaret Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Coffin Lake, and since you're here at Margaret Lake it's a good idea to stop by Skinny Fish Basin. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a great choice.
