There's so much to do here at Marchiori Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Lathrop is a magnificent spot for that, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Wahatoya Trail. Not far from Marchiori Reservoir you get some fine water scenery at Marchiori Dam, and if you came to camp Dakota Campground is a splendid place to do that. Around Marchiori Reservoir       you don’t get a lot of rainfall; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month is January. Now, you may assume that's loads but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Going for a hike on the Apishapa Trail is always a great adventure, and if you need a place to stay Knights Inn Walensburg is a great choice. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Eldora since you're here;                  there are wonderful places to explore along the Black Hills Trail. High temperatures at Marchiori Reservoir through the warm days of summer are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Marchiori Reservoir. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Sangre De Cristo Mountains is peerless! Looking for some flowing water? Try Cherry Creek, and Long Canyon is a delightful spot to spend some time. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Marchiori Reservoir.
