There is a pleasant hiking trail close to Mahaffey Lake called the Bailey Lake Trail, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites On The River is a great place to spend a night or two. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things near Mahaffey Lake. On a great day at Mahaffey Lake you can take a hike along the Fayville       Trail; a pretty lake like Crater Lake is a good place to have a look at. There's some flowing water close by, Lost Solar Creek is a stream you can go to while here; if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Oyster Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit White River - South Fork, and a nice close by hotel is Rodeway Inn. Float down the rapids of White River - North Fork in a kayak, and Meadow Creek Campground                  is a glorious local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Hill Creek Campground and Trailhead while you're here at Mahaffey Lake. All through the summertime at Mahaffey Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are commonly in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Mahaffey Lake temperatures dip to the 0's.
