For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Mack Mesa Lake temperatures dip to the 0's. There are other spots here than Mack Mesa Lake, for example Highline Lake, and a quick trip to Coyote Wash is positively a glorious idea. A tour to Colorado National Monument is recommended; close by you discover the Old Ute Indian Trail which is a good hiking trail.
