After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Ouray is a splendid location to spend a night or two; don’t forget to take a look at Grasshopper Park while you're here at Mack Lake. Throughout the summertime at Mack Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter       lows in the 10's overnight here at Mack Lake. So many exciting things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too glorious to be true. Not far from Mack Lake, you'll hit upon Van Boxel Lakes which is a stunning lake, and the Fall Creek Trail is a great hiking trail close by. If you're here at Mack Lake, you could explore Butte Creek, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Lost Lake. And if you're still looking                  for more outdoors fun stuff just keep reading. If the weather is great here at Mack Lake, you can go for a hike along the Little Cimarron Trail, and since you're here at Mack Lake, checking out Butte Rock is a must. All year is a good time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you love the outdoors. Big Cimarron Campground is a great campground nearby, and if you come at the right time of year, Cimarron River offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Mack Lake you can take a hike along the Alpine Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Ouray Chalet Inn. Mack Lake is a location that is relatively dry frequently; September is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful.
