Mack Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Stay the night at Beaver Lake Campground, and do take a hike on the Alpine Trail. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the San Juan Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. Cimarron Inn & Motel is a nice place to get some rest, and do stop at Lost Lake, it's a gorgeous lake. At Mack Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.

| | The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Mack Lake are in the 10's.
It is very dried out here at Mack Lake regularly; the month with most of the rain is September, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. magnificent whitewater spots on Cimarron River, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Fall Creek Trail.
The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the San Juan Mountains.
Butte Creek is a wonderful site to stop at, and Mack Lake is a great place to camp, Big Cimarron Campground is a great place. This lake is so wonderful. Grasshopper Park is a good location to stretch your legs a bit, and you can have
a nice hiking adventure along the Little Cimarron Trail.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Cimarron River; you need to take a look at Butte Rock since you're here.
