In Colorado there are many beautiful lakes, Macey Lakes is one of them. At Macey Lakes you don’t see much rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Rainbow Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and needless to say, all our national parks are tremendous sites to take a look at and Great Sand Dunes National Monument is no exception. is a fine local campground.
This spot rocks, just explore all the amusing stuff to do next to Macey Lakes. If you came to camp North Crestone Campground is a glorious location to do that, and Colony Baldy is clearly visible from
Macey Lakes. And that's not everything you can do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There is a pleasant hiking trail right next door to Macey Lakes called the Venable-Comanche Trail. A short journey to Macey Falls is always worthwhile; not far from Macey Lakes you'll find South Colony Lakes which is a wonderful lake.
