A pleasant journey to Elk Basin is a nice way to spend an afternoon, and Slate River is a great whitewater spot nearby. Really fine skiing awaits you at Irwin Lodge, and Lower Peeler Lake is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is a wonderful place to camp nearby. Don't leave Lower Peeler Lake without first going for a hike along the Lowline Trail, and you can stay the       night at Avery Peak Campground. This lake is so wonderful. There's delightful hiking along the Mill-Castle Trail. During the long summer days here at Lower Peeler Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Lower Peeler Lake. Lower Peeler Lake is a location that is                  relatively dried out regularly; August is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Go for a hike on the Trail Riders Trail, and at Lower Peeler Lake you can catch a glimpse of Carfield Peak. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Elevation Hotel & Spa is a magnificent choice, and close by you hit upon tremendous places like Gunsight Pass. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Lower Peeler Lake.
