You can run the rapids of Arkansas River near Lower Mohawk Lake, and skiing at Breckenridge is one of those things you just must do. There's whitewater on Tenmile Creek for all you thrill seekers, and close by you discover the Wheeler Trail which is a good hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Crested Butte if you're here; the top of Father Dyer       Peak is easily seen from Lower Mohawk Lake. If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lower Mohawk Lake. There are brilliant places to explore along the Wheeler Trail, and Mohawk Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out. All through the summer, highs mostly are in the 70's at Lower Mohawk Lake. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and                  nighttime lows through the winter for Lower Mohawk Lake tend to be in the-10's. Around Lower Mohawk Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; through the month of July you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is January.
