For the duration of the summer months highs here at Lower Chinns Reservoir get into the 70's with nighttime lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Lower Chinns Reservoir. Lower Chinns Reservoir is frequently a rather dried up location;       August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. At Lower Chinns Dam right next door to Lower Chinns Reservoir there are some exciting things to see; if the weather is wonderful, you obtain a splendid panorama of Mount Bancroft from Lower Chinns Reservoir. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Winter Park is close to Lower Chinns Reservoir; you can stay the night at Spruce Lodge Campground. You can run the rapids of Clear Creek right next door to Lower Chinns Reservoir, and the South Boulder Creek Trail is a great hiking trail close by.
