    If you are in Hinsdale county it's always a good idea to stop by Lost Lakes. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful. That right there is lots of cool stuff already but it goes on, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has it all. Some of the water nearby flows, like Ute Creek, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Long Ridge Stock Driveway. A pleasant spot like Horse Thief Pasture here at Lost Lakes is too pleasant to miss,  
   and if you're here you can take a hike along the Fern Creek Stock Driveway.
Lost Lakes truly is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. You can run the rapids of Henson Creek near Lost Lakes, and if you came for an overnight stay Thirtymile Campground is a brilliant spot to camp. At Lost Lakes you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. Love Lake Dam is worth
 
               stopping at if you're here, and why not camp at Lost Trail Campground if you're here at Lost Lakes.
This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Rio Grande Reservoir is close by, and get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Rio Grande. For the period of the summer months, highs typically are in the 70's at Lost Lakes. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; nighttime lows through the winter for Lost Lakes tend to be in the 10's. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Skiing at Silverton is one of those things you just ought to do.
