    Lost Lakes is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. There's so much to do here at Lost Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Lost Trail Campground is a great place for that, and Horse Thief Pasture is a perfect place. This lake is so wonderful. Henson Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby, obviously you could also pop by Love Lake since you're here; it's not far at all.
You simply should have a thing about the
 
   San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the Fern Creek Stock Driveway, and in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Grande. Around Lost Lakes you don’t get a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls all through August while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful.
 
               Lost Lakes is good enough to spend more than a day at, Thirtymile Campground is a good local campground; let's not forget Ute Creek which is a stream that you may bump into during your stay. Man, is there a heap of amusing stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Going for a hike along the Long Ridge Stock Driveway will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Silverton since you're here. So much exciting stuff to do at Lost Lakes, so little time. Lost Lakes is not the only location nearby, Lost Lake Reservoir Number 1 is a nearby lake; perfect water scenery is available at Love Lake Dam near Lost Lakes.
Through the warm days of summer highs here at Lost Lakes get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows at Lost Lakes during the winter mostly plunge into the 10's.
