     There's just no way someone can get bored here at Lost Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Middle Zapata Creek Lake is right next door to Lost Lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Strawberry Trail. Looking for something near Lost Lake? Lily Lake is in the vicinity; Great Sand Dunes National Monument is a very great site to pop by. And if that's not enough there's a load more amusing things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. The summit of Blanca  
   Peak can be made out from Lost Lake; Great Sand Dunes Oasis is a delightful campground nearby.
Now, you may feel that's a load but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Lost Lake is located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Summertime at Lost Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Lost Lake dipping
 
               down into the 0's throughout winter nights.
Around Lost Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; during August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January. Stay the night at Pinyon Flats Campground, and great hiking is available along the Huerfano Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Days Inn Alamosa is a tremendous choice, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lost Lake; Ute Trail is a good local trail.
