A visit to Great Sand Dunes National Monument is worthwhile; going for a hike along the Strawberry Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. High temperatures at Lost Lake throughout the days of summer are in the 80's, and the overnight is slightly colder of course, generally in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Lost Lake night low temperatures all through the       wintertime are in the 0's. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. At Lost Lake you don’t see much rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Lost Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Great Sand Dunes Oasis is a delightful local campground, and Lost Lake is right by the Huerfano Trail. The sight of Blanca Peak from Lost Lake is charming,                  and a splendid place to camp here at Lost Lake is Pinyon Flats Campground. This site is excellent, just look at all the cool stuff to do in the neighborhood of Lost Lake. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.
