This lake is located in the wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Lily Lake; camping at Pinyon Flats Campground is always a delightful experience. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things close to Lost Lake. There are splendid       locations to discover along the Ute Trail, and Great Sand Dunes Lodge is a great spot to get some rest. So many enjoyable things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, not sufficient time. Going for a hike on the Huerfano Trail is always a perfect adventure; Lost Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Great Sand Dunes Oasis is a splendid local campground. At Lost Lake you don’t see much rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain,                  and January meanwhile is the driest month. Go for a hike on the Strawberry Trail; Blanca Peak is clearly visible from Lost Lake. Summertime highs at Lost Lake generally tend to be in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Lost Lake during the winter frequently descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
