If you're into cool geologic characteristics, try Castle Rock; don't leave Loomis Lake without first going for a hike along the Flattop Mountain Trail. If only every spot had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great earth it would be. Head up to Berthoud Pass and strap some skis to your feet, and paddling on Cache La Poudre River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Hidden Valley Trail; while       you're here why not go to Ptarmigan Pass. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Front Range. If you need a site to stay Fawn Valley Inn is a perfect choice; Bighorn Flats is a perfect spot. All through the summer, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Loomis Lake. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Loomis Lake are in the 0's. Man, is there                  a load of entertaining things to do close to Loomis Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Loomis Lake; Loch Vale Trail is a wonderful local trail; glide down the rapids of Joe Wright Creek in a kayak. So many fun things in the Front Range, just amazing. There's some flowing water nearby, Fern Creek is a stream you can check out while you're here, and after a long day outdoors Peak To Peak Lodge Inc. is a splendid location to spend a night or two. Loomis Lake is a beautiful lake in the Front Range. Looking for something right next door to Loomis Lake? Odessa Lake is nearby; a short visit to Grace Falls is always worthwhile. Why not camp at Moraine Park Campground since you're here at Loomis Lake, and if you haven’t been to Rocky Mountain National Park, you must schedule some time for it while you're here. At Loomis Lake you don’t see much precipitation; most of the rain falls during August, and the driest month of the year is November. The vista of Flattop Mountain from Loomis Lake is pretty, and a glorious location to camp here at Loomis Lake is Endovalley Campground. And that's not all you can do here in the Front Range.
