Winter Park is a good local ski area; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Berthoud Pass is relatively near. High temperatures at Long Lake during the summertime are in the 70's, and the nighttime is quite colder of course, commonly in the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's while Long Lake overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. This is a tremendous area for       folks who like lakes. Mitchell Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and why not camp at Pawnee Campground while you're here at Long Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Front Range. That right there is a lot of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Front Range has it all. If you need a place to stay Stone Mountain Lodge And Cabins is a tremendous choice, and Rocky Mountain National Park is a tremendous site nearby. Get your pulse rate up on                  the fine whitewater of Boulder Creek, and going for a hike along the Jean Lunning Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Long Lake in fact is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. After a long day outdoors Best Western Lodge At Nederland is a brilliant location to spend a night or two; the scenery at Long Lake Dam is stunning. Be careful coming to the Front Range, you might not ever wanna go home again. A pleasant place to camp here at Long Lake is Mitchell Creek Campground, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Blue Lake Trail. Long Lake is pretty dehydrated generally; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most; February is the month with the least moisture.
