So many fun things in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, just inspiring. Take a hike on the Moore Mesa Trail, and Lone Pine Reservoir is not far at all from Montrose. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Monitor Mesa Trail, and Escalante Creek has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby. And that's not all there is to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains.       Lone Pine Reservoir is right by the Cottonwood Trail, and there are other locations here than Lone Pine Reservoir, for example Little Monitor Reservoir Number 1. This lake is so wonderful. Very splendid water scenery is available at Upper Ed Lee Dam near Lone Pine Reservoir. Smokehouse Campground is a delightful campground nearby, and Little Monitor Reservoir is a brilliant lake nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Whitewater paddling                  is fine on San Miguel River, and a brilliant location like Cottonwood Basin here at Lone Pine Reservoir is too pleasant to miss. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sundance; Lone Pine Reservoir is a brilliant spot to visit for more than one day, Antone Spring Campground is a brilliant spot to camp nearby. Summertime highs at Lone Pine Reservoir ordinarily tend to be in the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Lone Pine Reservoir.
