Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Little Mud Pond dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. Little Mud Pond gets very little rainfall; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is one of the great       places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. You definitely should have a thing about the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. You'll come across a pretty lake called McDonough Reservoir near Little Mud Pond; you can go for a hike on the Devils Hole Trail. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Little Mud Pond. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Cebolla River, and good hiking is available                  along the Rough Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Little Mud Pond without first going for a hike along the Bondholder Trail; there are some nice whitewater spots on Gunnison River. Monument Creek flows through this vicinity. There's so much to do here at Little Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Mesa RV Resort is a magnificent place for that. These mountains rock, just explore all the cool stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A delightful lake like Big Mud Pond close to Little Mud Pond is a splendid place to check out; if you need a place to stay GUNNISON LODGING COMPANY is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful.
