The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Silverton. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Pine-Piedra Stock Driveway, and Dollar Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. Yep, outdoors amusing stuff to do are beyond doubt abundant here at Little Emerald Lake. Near Little Emerald Lake you come across pleasant sites like Hell Canyon, and whitewater       paddling is great on Piedra River. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Little Emerald Lake; Devil Mountain Trail is a nice local trail; while you're here, you could also explore charming Emerald Lake. Camping at Vallecito Campground is always a splendid experience, and if you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Vallecito Creek. And that's not everything there is to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Why                  not take a refreshing hike along the Whitehead Trail, and Little Emerald Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Pine River Campground is a perfect local campground. Not much rain falls here at Little Emerald Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is June. For the duration of the warm months at Little Emerald Lake temperatures are typically in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's while Little Emerald Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's.
