Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Lily Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Lily Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Great Sand Dunes Oasis is a fine local campground; naturally, all our national parks are great spots to have a look at and Great Sand Dunes National       Monument is no exception. So many exciting things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, not enough time. A journey to Blanca Basin revives the soul. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Ute Trail, and camping at Pinyon Flats Campground is always a pleasant experience. Just can't get enough of Lily Lake. Good hiking is available along the Strawberry Trail, and not far from Lily Lake you'll hit upon Lost Lake which is a scenic lake. There are                  good sites to discover along the Huerfano Trail. Lakes? Sure, Crater Lake is nearby. This spot, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining things. If you need a site to stay Days Inn Alamosa is a perfect choice; you obtain a good view of Blanca Peak from here. At Lily Lake you don’t see much rain; most of the rain falls all through August while January is commonly the driest month.
