There's just no way someone can get bored here at Lily Lake. Pinyon Flats Campground is a magnificent local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Great Sand Dunes National Monument is a nice local destination here at Lily Lake; from Lily Lake you get a great panorama of Blanca Peak. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Why not camp at Great Sand Dunes Oasis while you're here at Lily Lake, and don't leave Lily       Lake without first going for a hike along the Strawberry Trail. Around Lily Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. The warmest time of the year at Lily Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures                  at Lily Lake dip into the 0's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. After a long day outdoors Alamosa-Days Inn is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two, and you can go for a hike on the Ute Trail.
