There's so much to do here at Lily Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Great Sand Dunes Oasis is a nice location for that, and Great Sand Dunes National Monument is one of the destinations that are great to pop by close by. Don't leave Lily Lake without first going for a hike along the Ute Trail, of course you could also go to Crater Lake while you're       here; it's not far at all. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Go for a hike on the Huerfano Trail. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. All through the days of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Lily Lake. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Lily Lake temperatures sink to the 0's.                  If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lily Lake. Good hiking is available along the Strawberry Trail; Alamosa-Days Inn is a good place to get some rest. But wait, there's more amusing things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you came to camp Pinyon Flats Campground is a good spot to do that, and everyone loves Blanca Basin. You get a perfect sight of Blanca Peak from Lily Lake, and a lake close by is Lost Lake.
