All the water falling down from the sky makes Lilly Pond a wet site; throughout March this area sees the most snow, and June meanwhile is the driest month. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the San Juan Mountains has to offer. On a delightful day you get a view of Telluride Mountain from Lilly Pond, and Government Park is right here at Lilly Pond. At Lilly Pond through the months of       summer highs are in the 60's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's while Lilly Pond overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 0's. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The San Juan Mountains rules! The San Juan Stock Driveway is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Lilly Pond; camping at Lilly Pond is great fun, Stunner Campground is a great local campground. But                  wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Lilly Pond. If you came for an overnight stay Mix Lake Campground is a fine place to camp, and do explore Platoro Dam if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Red Bear Inn is a tremendous site to get some rest, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the Lake Fork Trail. Lilly Pond is not the only site nearby, Kerr Lake is a nearby lake; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Conejos River. The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Near Lilly Pond you hit upon the Dry Creek Stock Driveway which is a great hiking trail; as expected Alum Creek flows through this area.
