     Summertime highs at Lillie Lake regularly tend to be in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and night lows throughout the wintertime for Lillie Lake tend to be in the 0's. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Vallecito Creek, and Aztec Mountain is clearly visible from Lillie Lake. The San Juan and  
   Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
This lake is so wonderful. Near Lillie Lake you discover the Brooklyn Trail which is a great hiking trail, and there are plenty of people from Durango here at Lillie Lake. The skiing at Silverton is good; if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Whitehead Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Get your heart beating on the glorious whitewater of Animas River,
 
               and Vallecito Campground is a good local campground.
But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Columbine Lake, and if you need a spot to stay Purgatory Lodge by Durango Mountain Resorts is a splendid choice. The Deer Park Trail is a tremendous hiking trail in the neighborhood of Lillie Lake, and Blue Spruce Trailer Park is a splendid campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Kendall Mountain is a glorious local ski area. Lakes are brilliant; Castilleja Lake is a lake that's close to Lillie Lake.
And that's not all you can do here at Lillie Lake. You might want to pay a visit to Columbine Pass since you're here at Lillie Lake. Lillie Lake gets very little precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area in the vicinity of Lillie Lake has to offer. Vallecito Basin is a great location to check out, and dry warm beds await you at Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel.
