Why not stop by Lewis Lake if you're passing through these parts. Not far from Lewis Lake you acquire some magnificent water scenery at Bridal Veil Dam; everyone loves Bridal Veil Basin. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Go for a hike on the Deep Creek Trail, and Telluride has fine slopes and a friendly staff. Summer at Lewis Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. | | the winter are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lewis Lake temperatures plunge to the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. One of the principal features of the surroundings of Lewis Lake is La Junta Peak, and Lewis Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Molas Lake Park is a wonderful local campground. Lewis Lake really is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Lime Creek. | |

Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mineral Creek - South, and almost certainly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Blue Lake is just a very short distance away.
This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lewis
Lake that you need to camp here for a while, South Mineral Campground is a magnificent place for that, and while you're here you can play some golf at Telluride Ski & Golf Club. If you need a spot to stay Camels Garden is a great
choice, and there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Brooklyn Trail. Hit the slopes at Silverton around here; going for a hike on the Greyhound Pack Trail is always a tremendous adventure.
Ophir Pass is close to Lewis
Lake and is a delightful site, and dry warm beds await you at Ice House Lodge. At Lewis Lake you don’t see much rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is June.
