The beauty of Leviathan Lake is reason enough to stop by. So many cool things right next door to Leviathan Lake, completely mind-boggling. At Leviathan Lake you can catch a glimpse of Gray Needle, and there's tremendous hiking along the Whitehead Trail. What would winter be without some skiing at Kendall Mountain; after a long day outdoors Cascade Village is a good spot to spend a night or two. And that's not everything there is to do here in the San Juan Mountains.

| | A good location for whitewater paddling near Leviathan Lake is Vallecito Creek, and the Deer Park Trail offers hiking at its best. Balsam Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Brooklyn Trail. Leviathan Lake is frequently a rather waterless place; August is the wettest month with most rain; June is the month with the least moisture. and the night is quite chillier of course, ordinarily in the 40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; nighttime lows at Leviathan Lake during the winter generally dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
A pleasant location to camp here at Leviathan Lake is Blue Spruce Trailer Park, and dry warm beds await you at Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel. This lake is so wonderful. Leviathan Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day
at, Vallecito Campground is a perfect local campground; hey, Gotta ski right? Silverton is a wonderful spot to do that. Leviathan Lake is a beautiful lake in the San Juan Mountains. Just can't get enough of the San Juan Mountains.
In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Animas River, and the Grenadier Range towers over Leviathan Lake.
