A visit to Leo Lake is always a good idea. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great world it would be. Visiting Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and not far from Leo Lake you'll locate Sapphire Lake which is a stunning lake. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Front Range. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Shining Mountain Golf

to Leo Lake, and at Leo Lake you always meet someone from Colorado Springs. Leo Lake is a location that is relatively dry commonly; July is the month that gets the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. Going for a hike
along the Stanley Canyon Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; after a long day outdoors Country Lodge is a tremendous site to spend a night or two. Take a hike on the Schubarth Trail. You'll need more
than a day to look at everything Leo Lake has to offer, you can camp at Promontory Campground. This lake is located in the wonderful Front Range. So many enjoyable things to do in the Front Range, not sufficient time. Hiking along
the Balanced Rock Trail is splendid fun; close by Ensign Gulch is a perfect location to go. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Leo Lake, for example Grace Lake, and you can stay the night at Springdale Campground.

Palmer Reservoir
I sure wish I could find any sort of map or ANY information which actually tells me how to get to this reservior!...
Stanley Canyon Trail
9/7/2007 Hiked the Stanley Canyon trail with a friend and enjoyed the trail very much up to the reservoir. About half way up there is a ''V'' in the trail and you need to stay to the left or straight ahead. The trail leading up and to the right ends in scree and downed trees. It's a moderately strenuous trail up to the reservoir; but well worth it. Afterwards, we hiked up and past the reservoir and wanted to loop around and hit the lower Stanley trail but were unable to find the trailhead for it. We ended up blazing new ground and coming down Eagle Peak trail much to our surprise....
North Catamount Reservoir
For a nice hike/mountain bike ride, this lake has a complete loop around it. About half of it is single track that weaves gradually in and out of coves on the North side of the lake. The south side has a couple good climbs. The rest of the ride is on the roads (Ridge Trail), which offers some nice views of the Peak and glimpses of South Catamount. The best access, in my opinion, is from the Catamount entrance at the end of Edlow Road (Past Woodland Park about 3 miles)....
Monument Lake
nice lake, easy to get to. Fits a couple of canoes. Some marshy area where people train their dogs. Fishing in 2007 was expected to be not the best due to the drought in 2004. We went twice in 2007, kids had a couple of bites, could see some people catching some smaller fish. Good lake for the ''I only have a few hours before the kids games'' kinda place....
Penrose-Rosemont Reservoir
15 miles away Have fished at Rosemont for many years. Always had a great time, caught alot of fish. Very few people used to fish there but the scenery and beauty of the lake naturally attracts people....
