Bennetts Basin is a delightful spot any time of year; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Beaver Dam Reservoir. Man, is there heaps of enjoyable things to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. The nice folks of Montrose like to hang out nearby. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to The Lake while overnight lows are generally in the 60's. Highs throughout the       winter are ordinarily in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at The Lake plunge into the 10's. What a site this is for outdoors folks. Get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Escalante Creek; camping is available at Dominguez Campground. This is a great region for people who like lakes. Love Lake is a lake close at hand; on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Long Point Trail. This lake is so wonderful.                  A good place for whitewater paddling near The Lake is Kannah Creek; nearby you hit upon the Short Point Trail which is a good hiking trail. You definitely ought to adore the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay T Bone Spring Campground is a delightful place to camp, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Brushy Ridge Trail. The Lake gets very little rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and June is the month with the least moisture.
