Poulter Colorado Camps is a good local campground, and Nordic Lodge of Steamboat is a magnificent location to get some rest. Yep, outdoors cool things to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Lake Windemere. These mountains rock, just check out all the amusing things to do in the Park Range. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Steamboat, and       get drenched paddling on Elk River. Going for a hike on the Elk Park Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and after a long day outdoors Rabbit Ears Motel is a perfect site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Howelsen Hill in the vicinity, and if you came for an overnight stay Steamboat Springs Koa Steamboat Springs Koa is a splendid place to camp. At Lake Windemere throughout the warm months highs are in the 80's; all                  through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Lake Windemere. So much enjoyable stuff next to Lake Windemere, just mind-blowing. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not stop by Apple Dam Reservoir close to Lake Windemere; nearby you find the Red Dirt Trail which is a good hiking trail. Lake Windemere is pretty dried out commonly; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow while February is usually the driest month. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Park Range. If you crave a little side spree, try De Cora Gulch, and if the weather is beautiful, you obtain a magnificent sight of Saddle Mountain from Lake Windemere. Float down the rapids of Elk River in a kayak; if you're here, you could explore Farnsworth Creek. There is a glorious hiking trail in the vicinity of Lake Windemere called the Big Creek Bridge Trail, and Trull Creek Reservoir Number 1 is a nice lake close by.
