What would winter be without some skiing at Steamboat, and don't leave Lake Windemere without first going for a hike along the Red Dirt Trail. Throughout the months of summer at Lake Windemere temperatures are usually in the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 40's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Lake Windemere dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Paddling on Elk River       is so much fun, and after a long day outdoors Nordic Lodge of Steamboat is a splendid spot to spend a night or two. The slopes of Howelsen Hill are so inviting nobody can resist; lakes are such serene places, why not go to Trull Creek Reservoir Number 1. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do close to Lake Windemere. Just can't get enough of the Park Range. A beautiful lake like Apple Dam Reservoir in close proximity to Lake Windemere is a splendid                  place to stop at, and there's great hiking along the Elk Park Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Rabbit Ears Motel is a pleasant choice; you could always look at De Cora Gulch. If only every place had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great earth it would be. On a lovely day you obtain a vista of Saddle Mountain from Lake Windemere, and there are great places to explore along the Big Creek Bridge Trail. Lake Windemere is a location that is rather dried up usually; most of the snow falls during December, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is located in the wonderful Park Range. Float down the rapids of Elk River in a kayak, and if you came for an overnight stay Steamboat Springs Koa Steamboat Springs Koa is a good place to camp. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Park Range.
