     Lake San Cristobal is a beautiful lake in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. For the period of the long summer days at Lake San Cristobal temperatures are frequently in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Lake San Cristobal tend to be in the-10's. So much amusing stuff to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too  
   glorious to be true. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Henson Creek. There's so much to do here at Lake San Cristobal that you need to camp here for a while, Slumgullion Pass Campground is a splendid place for that.
Lake Fork Gunnison River is a fine whitewater spot in close proximity to Lake San Cristobal. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake San Cristobal has to offer, you can camp
 
               at Lake City Campground. Be careful coming to Lake San Cristobal, you might not ever want to go home again. A good close by hotel is Comfort Inn Ouray, and don't leave Lake San Cristobal without first going for a hike along the Ridge Stock Driveway. Waterdog Lake is a great lake right next door to Lake San Cristobal, and the Rough Creek Trail offers hiking at its best.
All year is a brilliant time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you fancy the outdoors. Places like Sawmill Park are splendid to pop by, and there's great hiking along the Big Blue Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A beautiful lake like Regan Lake right next door to Lake San Cristobal is a wonderful spot to stop at; why not a little side visit to Slumgullion Creek. Texas Point is not far from Lake San Cristobal at all.
At Lake San Cristobal you don’t see much rain; most of the rain falls all through August; February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A short visit to Argenta Falls is always worthwhile; as expected, A tour to Deadman Gulch is always fun.
