Lake San Cristobal is a nice lake to visit. Lake San Cristobal is pretty dried up usually; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Man, is there a lot of exciting things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Texas Point is not far from Lake San Cristobal at all; if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Henson Creek. A quick spree to Slumgullion Creek in the vicinity of Lake San Cristobal is a nice idea, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Ridge Stock Driveway. This lake is so wonderful.
