For you golfers we recommend nearby Walsenburg Golf Club, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Rambler is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. There are great sites to discover along the Apishapa Trail, and an attention-grabbing thing to stop at near Lake Meriam is Horseshoe Lake Dam. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Camping at Dakota Campground is always a magnificent       experience, and do visit Horseshoe Lake Reservoir, it's a pretty lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Walsen Crag is trouble-free to spot from Lake Meriam, and going for a hike on the Black Hills Trail is always a great adventure. Near Lake Meriam you find the Wahatoya Trail which is a glorious hiking trail, and you can never get enough of the perfect skiing at Eldora. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Cottonwood Spring                  will fill your spirit with splendid feelings, and if you came to camp Lathrop is a fine site to do that. At Lake Meriam during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Lake Meriam. Lake Meriam is located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Knights Inn Walsenburg is a great spot to get some rest, and while you're here, you could also stop by delightful Martin Lake Reservoir.
