It's always fun to stop by Lake Marie. Take a hike on the Highline Trail, and Upper Park is a nice location to check out. Lake Marie is pretty dehydrated ordinarily; most of the rain falls during August while June is ordinarily the driest month. Just can't get enough of the San Juan Mountains. A tremendous close by hotel is Wits End, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Castilleja Lake.

| | of summer highs are in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's; night lows through the winter for Lake Marie tend to be in the 0's. Paddling on Animas River is so much fun, and the skiing at Kendall Mountain is wonderful. And if that's not enough there's loads more entertaining stuff to do in the San Juan Mountains. experience, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Deer Park Trail.
The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Lake Marie. Lake Marie is great enough to spend more
than a day at, Vallecito Campground is a great local campground, and a great place close by is Crystal Valley. Bullion Mountain is clearly visible from Lake Marie; the good people of Durango like to hang out nearby.
This lake
is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Vallecito Creek; if you need a place to stay Grimes Creek Resort is a brilliant choice. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Silverton is just what you need, and
hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Marie; Whitehead Trail is a fine local trail. Be careful coming to Lake Marie, you might not ever wanna return home again.
