Lake John is located in the Park Range. Lake Creek is a pleasant place to explore, and there's tremendous hiking along the Ute Pass Trail. And if that's not enough there's heaps more enjoyable things to do in the Park Range. Paddling on North Platte River is so much fun, and Lake John is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Helena Campground is a splendid local campground. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Lake       John with overnight lows in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake John are in the 10's. Not much rainfall falls here at Lake John; April is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. But wait, there's more to do near Lake John. A day on the slopes of Steamboat is just what you need, and Brands Reservoir is a good lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Don't                  leave Lake John without first going for a hike along the Blue Lake Trail; camping at Lakeside Campground is always a pleasant experience. Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more fun things to do here in the Park Range.
