From Lake Grant you obtain a wonderful vista of Crested Butte; while you're here you can take a hike along the Granite Basin Trail. After a long day outdoors Crested Butte Mountain Resort is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and camping at Avery Peak Campground is always a great experience. Just can't get enough of Lake Grant. If you came to camp Crested Butte Mountain Resort is a brilliant place to do that, and you can have a great hiking adventure

| | along the Trail Riders Trail. Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is a fine local destination here at Lake Grant, and the snow is nice at Aspen Highlands. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Purple Mountain Lodge B&B-Spa is a glorious choice, and if you've had enough of Lake Grant, Peanut Lake is close by. On a good day at Lake Grant you can take a hike along the Lowline Trail, as expected you could also stop at Meridian Lake Park Reservoir | |

Number 1 since you're here; it's not far at all. Around Lake Grant you don’t get a lot of rainfall; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is
so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Irwin Lodge, and you can run the rapids of East River. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Lake Grant, so little time. Throughout the warm months highs here
at Lake Grant reach the 70's while overnight lows are regularly in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's with temperatures at Lake Grant dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. You might want to
pay a visit to Baxter Gulch while you're here at Lake Grant, and Oh Be Joyful Creek is a great whitewater spot close by.

Mosca Campground
 | 16 miles away We've camped here since our now 40ish childrlen were young. They are now taking their children there. Mosca is beautiful both to the eye and the heart. It is a little more difficult now that there is no potable water, but one can use lake water for dishes, and must bring in drinking and cooking water.Fishing is great - the deer put on a show eve4ry night. The camp hostess, Mary, is there is to help you with problems, and to give great advice.Other than the water problem, this is the greatest camp ground I've ever occupied!... |

Lost Lake Campground
 | 18 miles away I just camped at Lost Lake 2 weeks ago! It is so beautiful and serene they were holding a wedding there 2 days after we left. With only 10 campsites, it is quiet and ideal for families or couples. A beautiful view of Lost Lake Slough and of the mountains in the background greeted us in the morning. The full moon rising over the crest of the mountain was a real treat the first night we got there. There is a 3 mile hike within walking distance on which we saw beautiful wildflowers, 2 waterfalls, and 3 lakes. ENJOY!... |
