Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake George; Phantom Creek Trail is a good local trail. Having a glorious time at Lake George is painless. You'll need more than a day to look at everything       Lake George has to offer, you can camp at Eleven Mile; you can take a little visit to Lake George Dam if you're here at Lake George. Go for a hike on the Longwater Trail, and get dripping wet paddling on South Platte River. So much fun stuff to do in the Front Range, not enough time. Looking for something right next door to Lake George? Wagon Tongue Reservoir is close at hand, and nearby you find great places like Arkansas Gulch. Around Lake George you don’t                  get a lot of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Hankins Trail. There's so much to do here at Lake George that you need to camp here for a while, Lake George Cabins and RV Park is a great place for that. This place, the Front Range, has so much outdoors fun stuff. A tour to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is recommended, and Country Lodge is a delightful spot to get some rest. High temperatures at Lake George through the summer months are in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 30's.
