For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows at Lake Brennand throughout the winter commonly descend into the-10's. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Aspen Highlands since you're here, and a good spot for whitewater paddling is East River. This       lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Lowline Trail is always a great adventure, and if you need a place to stay Grand Lodge Crested Butte is a nice choice. Go for a hike on the Granite Basin Trail, and what would winter be without some skiing at Irwin Lodge. This lake is so wonderful. Near Lake Brennand you stumble on the Trail Riders Trail which is a good hiking trail, and unsurprisingly Oh-be-joyful Creek is a lovely stream that is worth a visit.                  Lake Brennand Dam is worth stopping at since you're here; camping at Maroon Lake Campground is always a great experience. Lake Brennand is great enough to spend more than a day at, Avery Peak Campground is a great local campground, and Snodgrass Mountain is uncomplicated to spot from Lake Brennand. Be careful coming to Lake Brennand, you might not ever want to return home again. Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is a magnificent local destination here at Lake Brennand, and Oh Be Joyful Creek is a delightful whitewater spot close by. Lake Brennand is mostly a pretty dried out place; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Lake Brennand.
