There's so much to do here at Lake Brennand that you need to camp here for a while, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is a magnificent place for that, and if you're looking for a tremendous trip, Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is relatively near. There are wonderful sites to explore along the Granite Basin Trail, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Irwin Lodge while you're here. Near Lake Brennand you find the Trail Riders Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and whitewater paddling is good on Oh Be Joyful Creek. Going for a hike on the Lowline Trail is always a splendid adventure, and a good close by hotel is Eagle's Nest.
