There's so much to do here at Lake Avery that you need to camp here for a while, Clark Cabin Campground is a good spot for that, and there are some good whitewater spots on White River - North Fork. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Sleepy Cat Trail, and Big Beaver Dam is a lovely location. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lake Avery has to offer, you can camp at Hill Creek Campground and Trailhead; get yourself

| | into a kayak and hit White River - South Fork. Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Lake Avery. The Bailey Lake Trail offers hiking at its best, and a lake close by is Big Beaver Reservoir. A good nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SILT-RIFLE, and Lake Avery is not the only spot nearby, Big Lick Reservoir is a nearby lake. October, that's the one that rains the most; January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Big Beaver Creek if you're here at Lake Avery; Lake Avery is right by the Fayville Trail. For the period of
the summertime months highs here at Lake Avery get into the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Avery are in the 0's.

 | 18 miles away 3 PHOTOS Jet lake is also located in the Flat Tops wilderness area so no vehicles allowed but is only about a 15 to 20 minute hike to the lake (an easy pretty flat hike) then about another 15 minute hike into shadow lake , about 15 mor into blair lake and about 15 more into crater lake. Elk lakes are located about 5 minutes from the wilderness area only 1/2 mile to the parking for jet lakes.... some colorado wild flowers... |
