Why not take a refreshing hike along the Farmers Creek Trail, and the panoramas at Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park will blow your mind. A perfect close by hotel is Allington Inn and Suites, and hiking along the Skyline Trail is pleasant fun. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Beaver Ponds, and get your heart pumping on the       great whitewater of Rio Grande. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. After a long day outdoors The Spruce Lodge is a good spot to spend a night or two, and Palmer Mesa is clearly visible from Laguna Hilda. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Laguna Hilda. Lakes are great; Benito Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Laguna Hilda, and camping is available                  at Stone Cellar Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Laguna Hilda, you could take a look at Twin Peaks Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Not much rain falls here at Laguna Hilda; the month with most of the rain is August while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation. That right there is heaps of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has it all. Camping at Palisade Campground is always a perfect experience, and do take a hike on the Farmers Creek Trail. The warmest time of the year at Laguna Hilda arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's.
