Hit the slopes at Eldora in the vicinity, and if the weather is wonderful, you can go for a hike along the Wade       Trail. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Summertime highs at La Veta Lake North Reservoir commonly tend to be in the 80's; the nighttime is fairly colder of course, usually in the 50's.
