Be careful coming to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. A striking lake like Twin Lakes in the neighborhood of La Jara Reservoir is a tremendous spot to have a look at; going for a hike along the Conejos Stock Driveway will let you       absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything La Jara Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Ponderosa Campground; on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Notch Trail. Yeah, come up here to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains for a good time. There's so much to do here at La Jara Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Alamosa Campground is a brilliant place                  for that; needless to say Jarosa Creek flows through this region. Conejos River is a wonderful whitewater spot near La Jara Reservoir, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Spruce Hole Trail. At La Jara Reservoir throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 60's. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's with temperatures at La Jara Reservoir dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. You'll stumble on a stunning lake called La Grulla Lake near La Jara Reservoir. La Jara Reservoir is a wet place that gets lots of precipitation; most of the snow falls during March while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time.
