    Beautiful Koppenhafer Reservoir has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. A great place to camp here at Koppenhafer Reservoir is Cozy Comfort RV Park and Mountain Retreat; dry warm beds await you at Cortez-Days Inn. Don't miss out on a tour to Hovenweep National Monument while you're here at Koppenhafer Reservoir, and you can go for a hike on the McPhee Stock Trail. Around Koppenhafer Reservoir you don’t get a lot of precipitation; through the month  
   of October you get the most rain around here while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Good hiking is available along the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway, and camping at Mc Phee Mobile Home and RV Park is always a fine experience. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things near Koppenhafer Reservoir. Get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of Dolores River, and not far from Koppenhafer Reservoir you'll stumble on Tozer Number One
 
               Reservoir which is a charming lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Koppenhafer Reservoir; Stoner Stock Trail is a brilliant local trail.
After a long day outdoors Dunton Hot Springs is a magnificent location to spend a night or two; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Violet Reservoir. At Koppenhafer Reservoir all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's, and the overnight is quite cooler of course, commonly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and night lows at Koppenhafer Reservoir during the wintertime frequently dip into the 10's.

Puett Reservoir

A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line....

La Mesa RV Park

We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again....

Summit Reservoir

Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed....
