Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is abundant here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Kite Lake is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Silverton Lakes Campground is a magnificent spot to camp nearby; Vallecito Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. What would winter be without some skiing at Kendall Mountain, and don't leave Kite Lake without first going for a hike along the Deer Park Trail. This is no place for people who don’t like

| | to enjoy themselves. A lake nearby is Eldorado Lake; hey, Gotta ski right? Silverton is a pleasant place to do that. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. After a long day outdoors St.Elmo Hotel is a fine location to spend a night or two, and obviously Nebo Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth going to. a pleasant local campground. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Vallecito Creek, and one of the principal marks of the surroundings of Kite Lake is Hunchback Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. There's magnificent hiking along
the Brooklyn Trail, and a perfect nearby hotel is Best Western Twin Peaks Lodge & Hot Springs. This lake is so wonderful. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Mineral Creek - South, and Hunchback Pass is a great place to spend
some time. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll go for Kite Lake. During the months of summer at Kite Lake highs are regularly in the 70's.
During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Kite Lake sink into the 0's. Kite Lake gets very little precipitation; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is June.
