A visit to King Reservoir Number 2 is always a good idea. King Reservoir Number 2 gets very little rain; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Kannah Creek. Be careful coming to the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. | | do here at King Reservoir Number 2 that you need to camp here for a while, Divide Forks Campground is a glorious location for that, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Cabin Trail. That right there is plenty of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has it all. Dry warm beds await you at Prospector Motel, and going for a hike along the Gill Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this | |

area. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything King Reservoir Number 2 has to offer, you can camp at Hay Press Campground, and close by you stumble on Lake Canyon which is a splendid spot to visit.
High temperatures at King Reservoir Number 2 throughout the long summer days are in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; overnight
lows during the winter for King Reservoir Number 2 tend to be in the 10's. There are some great whitewater spots on Colorado River; if you need a spot to stay El Rio Rancho Motel is a magnificent choice. Since you might be in
a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby G H and S Reservoir Number 2; on a good day you can take a hike along the Serpents Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in close proximity to King Reservoir
Number 2. The vistas at Colorado National Monument will blow your mind, and lots of people from Grand Junction come here. The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
