This is a popular spot for folks from Grand Junction; a spree to Colorado National Monument is worthwhile. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Kannah Creek for all you thrill seekers; don't leave King Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Gill Creek Trail. Just can't get enough of the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. There are some magnificent whitewater spots       on Colorado River; why not camp at Divide Forks Campground while you're here at King Reservoir. Summer at King Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to King Reservoir. You completely should like King Reservoir. You'll stumble on a gorgeous lake called G H and S Reservoir Number 2 near King Reservoir; Lake                  Canyon is a wonderful site to spend some time. It is very dry here at King Reservoir generally; most of the rain falls during August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Rodeway Inn Grand Junction is a great spot to get some rest, and brilliant hiking is available along the Serpents Trail. And if that's not enough there's plenty more exciting stuff to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Lakes are such serene sites, why not go to Schrader Reservoir next to King Reservoir, and after a long day outdoors Hawthorn Suites Ltd Grand Junction is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Ute Canal Trail, and a good spot to camp here at King Reservoir is Hay Press Campground.
