Stickford Lake is a lake close by, and the vistas at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument will blow your mind. This lake is so wonderful. Kendall Reservoir is fine enough to spend more than a day at, South Park Lodge and RV Park is a fine local campground, and Hampton Inn DenverSW /Lakewood/ is a good location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if       it's for you then we recommend South Platte River, and if you came to camp Chatfield is a nice spot to do that. Through the long summer days at Kendall Reservoir highs are usually in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Kendall Reservoir temperatures sink to the 10's. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff near Kendall Reservoir.                  There's some flowing water close by, Weaver Creek is a stream you can visit during your stay, and Weaver Gulch is in the vicinity, and is a splendid location. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Harriman Lake, and the view of Mount Carbon is lovely. If you're a golfer then a wonderful nearby course is Bear Creek Golf Club, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Bear Creek. Good hiking is available along the Beaver Brook Trail, and folks from Denver-Aurora love to come here. There's good hiking along the Mesa Trail; Harriman Dam is an attention-grabbing thing to check out. What a spot this is for outdoors people. If you need a place to stay Oakwood at Retreat at Fox Hollow is a nice choice.
