This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Beaver Brook Trail, and if you need a location to stay Hampton Inn Denver-Southwest/Lakewood is a good choice. Around Johnson Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rainfall; May is the wettest month with most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. There's so       much to do here at Johnson Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Chatfield is a glorious place for that, and if you come at the right time of year, Bear Creek offers some good whitewater. The scenery at Johnson Dam close to Johnson Reservoir is delightful; Johnson Reservoir is a site with many visitors from Denver-Aurora. Johnson Reservoir is good enough to spend more than a day at, South Park Mobile Home Park is a good local campground, and Super                  8 Motel - Lakewood/Denver Area is a pleasant site to get some rest. You might want to pay a visit to Lilley Gulch if you're here at Johnson Reservoir, and enjoy a round of golf at Raccoon Creek Golf Course. You'll come across a pretty lake called Bowles Reservoir Number 1 near Johnson Reservoir; float down the rapids of South Platte River in a kayak.
