And that's not everything there is to do here in the Park Range. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of North Platte River; if you get bored of Lake John you could also visit close by Brands Reservoir. Lake John gets very little precipitation; during April this area sees the most rain; the driest month is January. If the weather is great here at Lake John, you can go for a hike along the Ute Pass Trail, and       some of the water nearby flows, like Lake Creek. Just can't get enough of the Park Range. After a long day outdoors CrossTimbers at Steamboat is a great place to spend a night or two. Lake John is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lake John has to offer, you can camp at Lakeside Campground. Throughout the warm months, highs commonly are in the 70's at Lake John. Once the sun is down it plunges                  down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake John temperatures descend to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lake John you can take a hike along the Blue Lake Trail, and Lake John Dam is not far at all from Lake John. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Lake John. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Grizzly Helena Trail; you can stay the night at Helena Campground.
