| | the right time of year, Joe Wright Creek offers some wonderful whitewater, and do take a hike on the West Branch Trail. It is very dehydrated here at Jewel Lake ordinarily; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January on the other hand is the driest. A delightful location to camp here at Jewel Lake is Craig Campground, and Jewel Lake is right by the North Fork Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then | |

we recommend Cache La Poudre River, and the Blue Lake Trail offers hiking at its best. If you need a place to stay Gateway Inn Restaurant Cnf Ctr is a fine choice. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Ranger Lakes
Campground, and if you've had enough of Jewel Lake, Island Lake is close by. The peak of Clark Peak can be distinguished from Jewel Lake, as expected you could also explore Timber Lake if you're here; it's not far at all.

Tunnel Campground
 | This has been a favorite vacation/relaxation spot for my family for many years. The popularity has grown and the campground is very busy during the summer months on weekends. There is great stream and lake fishing nearby, plenty of trails for hiking and an evening drive to Long Draw Reservoir is guaranteed to provide sightings of elk and moose. ... |
Browns Park Campground
 | 10 miles away Drove up from Longmont, sad to see closed even after Memorial day.... |
Long Draw Reservoir
 | 12 miles away A very nice place to go camping, hiking and fishing. The reservoir has an astonishing breathtaking view, nothing like I have ever seen before, yes that beautiful! We went the weekend of July 10th, 2009 the weather during the day is very nice and sunny avg. temp about 75 degrees, the nights however are very cold, dipping into the low 40's and 30's, so be prepared for that, we came with too little of blankets and learned that to be a big mistake. Long draw is located about 15 mi. inland from Hwy 14 just past Chambers, driving into the reservoir looks deceitful because it seems as though you are traveling into the thick of the forest with nothing but trees around, but be patient 15 mi. in you will discover the camp ground, enjoy!... |
Lost Lake

SolVista
 | 29 miles away 2 PHOTOS ... terrain to whet the appetite of more advanced skiers. SolVista Basin is the perfect place for kids and parents alike, as all runs lead to a single location at the base. Your skiing adventure begins at the newly completed Base Camp Lodge. Here you can purchase lift tickets, enroll in ski school, and rent or buy the latest equipment. It also offers the perfect vantage point to watch the kids cruise down the slopes as you relax on the viewing deck. At the end of the day, the fire pit at the base of the mountain is a popular gathering place for families to share stories and enjoy a warm cup of cocoa. There's also a dining hall, Seven Trails Grille and Higher Grounds Coffee Shop to keep you fueled for your adventures. We have totally redesigned the Base Camp Lodge! We have added 5000 sq ft to the building, expanded the deck seating by 2500 sq ft and paved the parking lot. The Children's Center, Retail Shop, Dining Hall and Rental Department are revamped for the 07-08 ski season. We are proud to announce the Seven Trails Grille opening on the first floor of the Base Camp Lodge.
