Do visit Little Echo Lake near James Peak Lake, it's a lovely lake; why not take a look at Stewart Lake Dam while you're here. Summer brings highs in the 70's to James Peak Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to James Peak Lake. While you're here at James Peak Lake, you could also visit picturesque       Steuart Lake, and James Peak Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Mountain Meadow Camp Grounds is a delightful local campground. There is a delightful hiking trail close to James Peak Lake called the South Boulder Creek Trail, and Berthoud Pass has great slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. The James Peak Lake Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close to James Peak Lake, and after a long day outdoors Iron Horse Resort is a                  fine place to spend a night or two. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at James Peak Lake. It is very dried up here at James Peak Lake typically; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest month is February. This lake is one of the great places here in the Front Range. That right there is loads of cool things already but it goes on, the Front Range has it all. Really delightful skiing awaits you at Winter Park, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Boulder Creek. Any time is a great time at James Peak Lake if you fancy the outdoors. Near James Peak Lake you hit upon the Guinn Mountain Ski Trail which is a perfect hiking trail, and nearby you hit upon magnificent spots like Rogers Pass. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Front Range. A wonderful close by hotel is The Peck House, and a tremendous place to camp here at James Peak Lake is Midland Campground.
