If you like lakes and you're in this part of Colorado you can check out James Peak Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stewart Lake Dam has great water scenery and it's near James Peak Lake, and you can hit the slopes at Berthoud Pass nearby. Boulder Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you need a place to stay Iron Horse Resort is a brilliant choice. James Peak Lake is a beautiful lake in the Front Range.

| | in the great outdoors just come on up to the Front Range. A lake close by is Loch Lomond, and you can go for a hike on the Guinn Mountain Ski Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Winter Park, of course you could also pop by Reynolds Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. James Peak Lake is Midland Campground.
Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at James Peak Lake. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clear
Creek - West Fork; going for a hike on the South Boulder Creek Trail is always a great adventure. If the weather is lovely, you get a great sight of Mount Bancroft from James Peak Lake; a magnificent spot to stop by is Rogers Pass.
James Peak Lake is a location that is relatively arid commonly; through August this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. The warmest time of the year
brings highs in the 70's to James Peak Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at James Peak Lake temperatures plunge
to the 0's. These mountains rock, just explore all the cool stuff to do in the Front Range. A great close by hotel is Zephyr Mountain Lodge, and James Peak Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Mountain Meadow Camp Grounds is a perfect local campground.
