Man, is there a load of enjoyable stuff to do right next door to James Peak Lake. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. The skiing at Winter Park is good, and if you came for an overnight stay Midland Campground is a good site to camp. James Peak Lake is pretty dried out usually; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest.       You just can't picture the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Front Range has to offer. On a glorious day at James Peak Lake you can take a hike along the South Boulder Creek Trail, and if you need a location to stay Zephyr Mountain Lodge is a wonderful choice. A perfect location to visit close to James Peak Lake is Rogers Pass; a lake nearby is Little Echo Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from James Peak Lake to catch a sight of the                  water at Stewart Lake Dam, and there's whitewater on Clear Creek - West Fork for all you adrenaline people. The Guinn Mountain Ski Trail is a nice hiking trail right next door to James Peak Lake, and Berthoud Pass is a perfect local ski area. For the duration of the months of summer at James Peak Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows at James Peak Lake through the winter generally fall into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. The sight of Mount Bancroft from James Peak Lake is picturesque, needless to say you could also pop by Steuart Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. The Front Range scenery is always beautiful. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Front Range is unbeatable! While you're here at James Peak Lake you can take a hike along the James Peak Lake Trail, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Boulder Creek.
