Many people like to go to Jackson Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Jackson Lake without first going for a hike along the Gold Creek Union Park Trail. There's so much to do here at Jackson Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Gold Creek Campground is a great place for that. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Monarch is close to Jackson Lake, and don't miss out on a tour to Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park while you're here. There's

| | just no way someone can get bored here at Jackson Lake. The Pitkin Stock Driveway offers hiking at its best, and in all probability you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Fairview Lake is just a very short distance away. Throughout the summer highs here at Jackson Lake get into the 70's; the nighttime is fairly colder of course, regularly in the 30's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Jackson Lake. | |

And if that's not enough there's plenty more entertaining things to do in the Sawatch Range. If you came to camp Pitkin Campground is a perfect site to do that, and you're probably addicted to lakes, Annie Lake is one of those nearby.
Jackson Lake is pretty dehydrated usually; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow, and June meanwhile is the driest month. Jackson Lake is a beautiful lake in the Sawatch Range. There's splendid hiking along
the Gunsight Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Clear Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay The Alpenblick By Aspen Lodging Company is a delightful choice.
Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more fun things to do here in the Sawatch Range. If you come at the right time of year, Taylor River offers some nice whitewater, and at Jackson Lake you can distinguish Fairview Peak.

Mosca Campground
 | 16 miles away We've camped here since our now 40ish childrlen were young. They are now taking their children there. Mosca is beautiful both to the eye and the heart. It is a little more difficult now that there is no potable water, but one can use lake water for dishes, and must bring in drinking and cooking water.Fishing is great - the deer put on a show eve4ry night. The camp hostess, Mary, is there is to help you with problems, and to give great advice.Other than the water problem, this is the greatest camp ground I've ever occupied!... |
