You can take a little spree to J M Dam since you're here at J M Reservoir, and close by you stumble on the Strawberry Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. You completely have to love the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. While you're here at J M Reservoir, you could also go to pretty Beeman Reservoir; the Cascade Trail is a nice hiking trail close by. Visiting       Great Sand Dunes National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet; going for a hike on the Music Pass Trail is always a good adventure. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. J M Reservoir is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Cross D Bar Trout Ranch is a nice local campground, and some nearby water includes South Bruff Creek. If you came to camp Pinyon Flats Campground is a good place to do that; Wolf Reservoir                  is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. J M Reservoir is a location that is rather dried out frequently; most of the rain falls throughout August while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the long summer days highs here at J M Reservoir get into the 80's, and the nighttime is rather cooler of course, commonly in the 40's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's while J M Reservoir nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. Man, is there heaps of cool stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.
